A Mother’s Day Card from Schubert

I sent Diane a card
from “Schubert”, the German Shepherd.
for he sang each Happy Birthday to her,
with us.

And remembered my Mom
caring for “Chief-y”, the Dalmatian,
when my Aunt got sick.

And walking my Miniature Boxer
after I left for the convent.

A mother’s nurturing role
always expands

open arms enfold the entire pregnant circle
which gives birth, over and over.
