I need to see this psalm again
Psalm 139
Lord, you know everything about me:
when I sit or stand
my every thought.
You tell me where to stop and rest
and know every word I’m going to say.
I can never be lost to your spirit.
If I ride the morning wind to the farthest oceans,
your hand will guide me.
Darkness and light are the same to you.
You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit them together in my mother’s womb.
You scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe.
Many times a day, your thoughts turn to me.
Know my heart; find in me what makes you sad, and lead me out.

in Poetry, the artichoke flower Tags: Alexander Hamilton, by mortal power, by the hand of divinity, can never be erased, in the whole volume of human nature, musty records, not to be rummaged for among old parchments, or obscured, the artichoke flower, the sacred rights of mankind, written with a sunbeam

Alexander Hamilton wrote:
“The sacred rights of mankind
are not to be rummaged for among old parchments or musty records.
They are written, as with a sunbeam,
in the whole volume of human nature
by the hand of the divinity itself
and can never be erased or obscured by mortal power.”

in in the highlands, Poetry Tags: essential silence cheers, have rosy faces, in the country places, in the highlands, life and death, lovely music broods and dies, O to dream, quiet eyes, Robert Louis Stevenson, the mightier movement, the million tinted night has come, through the trance of silence, where the old plain men have rosy faces

For a rendering of the song, please go to:
In the Highlands
by Robert Louis Stevenson
In the highlands, in the country places,
Where the old plain men have rosy faces,
And the young fair maidens
Quiet eyes;
Where essential silence cheers and blesses,
And for ever in the hill-recesses
Her more lovely music
Broods and dies—
O to mount again where erst I haunted;
Where the old red hills are bird-enchanted,
And the low green meadows
Bright with sward;
And when even dies, the million-tinted,
And the night has come, and planets glinted,
Lo, the valley hollow
Lamp-bestarr’d!
O to dream, O to awake and wander
There, and with delight to take and render,
Through the trance of silence,
Quiet breath!
Lo! for there, among the flowers and grasses,
Only the mightier movement sounds and passes;
Only winds and rivers,
Life and death.
