Let us look at the tree of the cross so that hope might germinate in us…

“Dear brothers and sisters, this is how God’s hope germinates. It is born and reborn in the black holes of our disappointed expectations – and hope, true hope, instead, never disappoints. Let us think precisely about the cross: out of the most terrible instrument of torture, God wrought the greatest sign of his love. Having become the tree of life, that wood of death reminds us that God’s beginnings often begin with our ends. Thus, he loves to work wonders. So today, let us look at the tree of the cross so that hope might germinate in us – that everyday virtue, that silent, humble virtue, but also that virtue that keeps us on our feet, that helps us move forward. It is not possible to live without hope. Let us think: Where is my hope? Today, let us look at the tree of the cross so that hope might germinate in us…that we might be healed of our sadness.”
Pope Francis

 My Heart Leaps Up

by William Wordsworth

My heart leaps up when I behold

A rainbow in the sky:So was it when my life began;

So is it now I am a man;

So be it when I shall grow old,

     Or let me die!

The Child is father of the man;

And I could wish my days to be

Bound each to each by natural piety.

Lothario Toad

blueTreeFrog

Hi everyone,
Last night we heard our first toad of the season. When I went out to check, he was sitting in shallow water on the pool cover, singing for love into the dark night and patiently waiting for a willing mate to answer. By the time we went to bed, he was still singing in vain.

Come, My Love

Come, my love,
come, by dear,
come and find me
waiting here.
I’m waiting just
for you, my sweet.
By moonlit pool,
we’ll be discreet.
Tonight we’ll make
your life complete.
Come, my love,
come, my pet,
there’s time for you
to join me yet.

Solidarity with Christ

“On the cross, Christ put Himself in solidarity with us so that each of us can say: In my failures, in my desolation, when I feel betrayed and abandoned, You are there, Jesus. When I feel I can’t take it anymore, you are with me. In all my unanswered “why’s”, you are with me.”
Pope Francis

How do I move on from an obsession?

2008

Breakups are often difficult; while some individuals experience a complete upheaval of their environment and believe that nothing can ever be right again, others, on the other hand, may experience comfort, relief, and gladness. You see, there is no such thing as the correct or incorrect way to react at a time like this. What you need to remember is that the feelings you are experiencing are okay; many individuals experience them. So, just be patient with yourself; recovering from a breakup takes as much time as it will take.
Even though it might be enticing to rush through the process of getting over a split, it might require some patience and effort, as well as some support from others. Just remember to put yourself first right now so you can move on after a breakup. So today, we are using the Healing with The Angels Oracle Cards by Doreen Virtue to help divine the angels’ advise about this situation.
Help! I Can’t Stop Thinking About My Ex!
And, what comes through immediately is that you have been wishing that you could move on from your ex, but every little thing keeps on reminding you of them. It’s possible that a breakup doesn’t always provide resolution, leaving you tormented by regret and persistent thoughts of your ex-partner.

There can be many reasons you can’t stop thinking about an ex. For example, you still haven’t distanced yourself from the connection. The split can have been brought on by an unsolved problem, or you might still be mourning the connection and feel as though you never truly got closure.
It’s also possible that you’re romanticising the connection and seeing it through rose-tinted spectacles.
Additionally, you could be triggered by specific types of sounds, smells, events, or anything else that conjures up old memories. Remembering your former partner may help you hang onto some of the emotions that trigger memories of a period when you were emotionally fulfilled.

In spite of all of this, know that each and every one of your prayers will always be heard. It’s possible that you won’t always feel this way though, especially if you’re waiting for an answer that doesn’t arrive the way you want it to.
It’s feasible that an instinctive sense will come to you, a fresh prospect will present itself, or something similar as a sign to spur you on. It’s crucial now to pay additional attention to what is going on around you.
Take note of everything you observe, speak, imagine, and experience at this precise moment. Keep a particularly sharp eye out for assistance coming your way and make it a point to take it when it’s offered.

Looking Forward to an Ex-Free Future
At this very moment, the angels are assisting you. Keep on soliciting their aid, and when it finally arrives, make sure you’re ready to take it! You are surrounded by an abundance of benefits at this very moment.

Even though you may not realize it, you are so abundantly blessed. With this in mind, actively see yourself as a strong, powerful person. You don’t need to rely on anyone apart from yourself. Yes, you might feel as though you are trying to convince yourself that you’re a superhero to begin with. However, you CAN think yourself free of your ex.
Right now, get a pen and a piece of paper and write down everything you love about the single life. Count every single last one of your blessings as you go. And, whenever you start thinking about your ex, take a look at all these reasons why being single is amazing. You can have the time of your life on your own with no one else at all to answer to!

You have been working so hard to move on after your breakup, and you know what? You’re going to continue to do brilliantly. Just enjoy yourself and if you ever feel some niggling little feelings of missing your ex creeping in again, understand that this is perfectly normal. After all, he/she was a huge part of your life for a while, so it stands to reason that you would still think of them occasionally. Just accept it and move on because happiness is set to envelope you more and more each and every day because you are working at it.
At this point in your life, you are experiencing a period that is bright and joyful. You have been putting in effort to make improvements, and those goals have now begun to take shape as a result of your efforts.
At this moment, you should try your best to cultivate a heartfelt sense of appreciation and give thanks for being able to move on from the past so that you free yourself up to meet someone you resonate beautifully with on every level imaginable!

“Brothers and sisters, we have begun Holy Week. I invite all of you to live it as the tradition of the holy, faithful people of God teaches us, that is, accompanying the Lord Jesus with faith and love. Let us learn from our Mother, the Virgin Mary. She followed her Son with the closeness of her heart. She was of one soul with Him. And, together with him, even though not understanding everything, she abandoned herself completely to the will of God the Father. May Our Lady help us stay close to Jesus, present in the people who suffer, are cast out, abandoned. May Our Lady lead us by the hand to Jesus present in these people.”
Pope Francis

Loud Clouds

Loud Clouds

loud clouds blow my ears

make my hems willow

my cheeks pink

my legs scaly.

Feet grounded

I cling to earth

and take my place in first row

where trombones

slide in and out

like breath

and butterflies.

Making Risotto for Dinner When His Ex-Wife Calls
by Kendra Tanacea
While I mince an onion, he talks with her, planning their son’s bar mitzvah, soundingso familiar, so nuts and bolts. Turning up the gas flame,I sauté the onion translucent. Butter sizzles, foams,as they go over the invitation list, names I’ve never heard.
Adding a cup of Arborio, I think of white ricethrown high in the air by the fistful. I pourtwo glasses of chardonnay, one for the risotto, one for myself, sip, then gulp. Blend.
The band, flowers, menu?Heady, I stare at the recipe to orient myself, to understandwhat I am doing: Add broth, cup by cup, until absorbed.Add Parmesan. Serve immediately.
The word immediately catches my eye,but their conversation continues, then his songets on the line and hangs up on him,as I stir and stir, holding the wooden spoon.

In an Old Apple Orchard

The wind’s an old man
to this orchard; these trees
have been feeling
the soft tug of his gloves
for a hundred years.
Now it’s April again,
and again that old fool
thinks he’s young.
He’s combed the dead leaves
out of his beard; he’s put on
perfume. He’s gone off
late in the day
toward the town, and come back
slow in the morning,
reeling with bees.
As late as noon, if you look
in the long grass,
you can see him
still rolling about in his sleep.

“We must never forget the moment and the way in which God enters into our lives, treasuring in our hearts and minds that encounter with Grace that enkindles faith in our hearts and sparks zeal for the Gospel within us. We need to be cleansed of all the dust that has sullied our hearts. How? Prayer, fasting, works of mercy: this is the journey of Lent.”

Pope Francis

Only the poor in spirit find everything… because they find the Lord!

“Only those who are poor in spirit, in need of salvation, who beg for grace, present themselves before God without vaunting their merits, without pretense or presumption. Having nothing, they therefore find everything, because they find the Lord.”

Pope Francis

Do I illuminate the environments in which I live with words and gestures of life?

John-Kit

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 29TH, 2023
“Dear brothers and sisters, in chapter 11 of the Gospel of John and which it does a great deal of good to read, is a hymn to life. Perhaps we too in this moment carry in our heart some burden or some suffering, that seems to crush us; something bad, some old sin we cannot bring out, some youthful mistake, you never know. These bad things need to come out. And Jesus says, “Come out!”. So, it is the moment to take away the stone and to go out towards Jesus, who is close. Can we open our hearts to him and entrust our worries to him? Shall we do it? Are we able to open the tomb of problems, are we capable, and look over the threshold, towards his light, or are we afraid of this? And in turn, as small mirrors of God’s love, do we manage to illuminate the environments in which we live with words and gestures of life? Do we bear witness to the hope and joy of Jesus? May Mary, Mother of Hope, renew in us the joy of not feeling alone and the call to bring light into the darkness that surrounds us.”
Pope Francis

Do not hold your stones inside of you…

IMG_0144

TUESDAY, MARCH 28TH, 2023
“Jesus says this to us too. Take away the stone: the pain, the mistakes, even the failures, do not hide them inside you, in a dark, lonely, closed room. Take away the stone: draw out everything that is inside. “Ah, but I am ashamed”. Throw it to me with confidence, says the Lord, I will not be outraged; throw it to me without fear, because I am with you, I care about you and I want you to start living again. And, as he did with Lazarus, he repeats to each one of us: Come out! Rise again, get back on the path, regain your confidence! How many times, in life, we find ourselves like this, in this situation of no longer having the strength to get up again.  And Jesus says: I am with you”. I will take you by the hand, like when you were a child learning to take your first steps.
