Labor ’til heaven and earth are one.

Law is in the Old Testament and the New.

Evil and good both come out of the heart.

We must cultivate Kingdom Consciousness.

No murder, frustration, grudges, or grief.

Thoughts of the heart have consequences.

Spiritual rot turns to evil in the heart.

Seek only the truth, not lies.

An affair can be on the internet.

Jesus’ way is radical.

We are his co-workers who give respect, dignity and a calm heart!

Sharing the mountain

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 10TH, 2023
“Dear brothers and sisters, let us ask ourselves some questions. How do I live poverty of spirit? Do I know how to make room for God? Do I believe that he is my good, my true and great wealth? Do I believe that he loves me, or do I throw myself away in sadness, forgetting that I am a gift? And then: Am I careful not to waste? Am I responsible about how I use things, goods? And am I willing to share them with others, or am I selfish? Lastly: Do I consider the weakest as precious gifts whom God asks me to care for? Do I remember the poor, those who are deprived of what is necessary?May Mary, the Woman of the Beatitudes, help us witness the joy that life is a gift and the beauty of making a gift of ourselves.”
Expressing “heartfelt condolences” to those who mourn the thousands killed in the earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria on Monday, Pope Francis said “I prays for emergency personnel to be sustained in their care for the wounded and in ongoing relief efforts by divine gifts of strength and perseverance.”

Let us exercise the desire for paradise…

329218081_1852019168490689_7457540553591136639_n

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 8TH, 2023
Brother and sisters, let us feed our expectation for Heaven, let us exercise the desire for paradise. Today it does us good to ask ourselves if our desires have anything to do with Heaven. Because we risk continuously aspiring to passing things, of confusing desires with needs, of putting expectations of the world before expectation of God. But losing sight of what matters to follow the wind would be the greatest mistake in life. Let us look upwards, because we are on a journey toward the Height, whereas the things from down here will not go up there: the best careers, the greatest achievements, the most prestigious titles and awards, accumulated wealth, earthly earnings — all will vanish in an instant, everything. And every expectation placed in those things will be disappointed. And yet, how much time, how much effort and energy do we spend worrying and feeling sad because of these things, letting the tension towards home fade, losing sight of the meaning of the way, of the goal of the journey, the infinite towards which we go, the joy for which we breathe! Let us ask ourselves: do I live out what I say in the Creed, “I look forward” — that is — “to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come”? And how do I wait? Am I capable of going to the essential or am I distracted by so many superfluous things? Do I cultivate hope or go on complaining, because I give too much value to many things that don’t matter and that will pass?
Entrusting those who have died in the Turkey and Syria earthquake to the loving mercy of the Almighty, I pray that the emergency personnel involved in the ongoing relief efforts will be sustained by the divine gifts of fortitude and perseverance.

Your housing situation may change soon…

wands02

The tarot card of the day is the Two of Wands.
When this card appears, it suggests that you may be pondering what else the universe has for you out there. You may be questioning if whether or not you need to make a change in your life.
The Two of Wands encourages you to do what you feel like you need to do in life and not waste too much time worrying about the what-ifs.
Are you ready to move forward in life to the next level? Perhaps you’ve been thinking about moving away from home. Or you have already taken the first leap and are now in search of housing. The Two of Wands shows that there are big, exciting decisions on the horizon for you to make.
The Two of Wands indicates that you’re moving forward in your life.
As one of life’s chapters comes to an end, a new one begins. The Two of Wands knows that your life story can’t only consist of one long, never-ending chapter. Some things need to come to an end so that new, better things can begin. It’s all a part of life’s journey.
The Two of Wands is inviting you to look at what is no longer serving you any good.
What’s getting in your way?
What’s holding you back?
Figure out what people or situations in your life have run their course and need letting go of. Clear them out of your life and make room what whatever is next in line to enter your life.
Thinking about moving away from home?
When the Two of Wands makes an appearance, it could be a sign that one of the situations no longer serving you any good could be your current housing situation.
It’s true—there is no place like home. However, all baby birds have to leave their nest at one point in life and learn how to spread their wings.

The Two of Wands says that once you’re able to leave what’s known to you and what you are comfortable with, you’ll be soaring in no time.
The Two of Wands also represents a possible search for housing. Maybe you’ve already taken the first steps towards your new chapter away from home and have begun the hunt for housing. If so, that’s fantastic! The Two of Wands wants you to carefully choose your housing but not let yourself get too indecisive.
While it’s crucial to pick out housing that you feel happy and comfortable with, if you wait too long to pick a permanent place, you could end up missing out!
Advice from the Two of Wands.
The Two of Wands wants nothing more than for you to make good choices while moving forward in life. As you end one chapter and begin the next one, here is something you can do to make driving decisions easier for yourself.

Figure out what you want to keep and what you want to get rid of in your life.
Sit down and write out a list of all the things, people, and situations that make you happy in life. Now do the same, but with all things, people, and conditions that stress you or make you upset.
Try to make a game of it and challenge yourself. Whatever is on your happy list, please create an effort to increase its presence in your life. Whatever isn’t making you too delighted or is holding you back from progressing in life, kiss it goodbye and leave it behind in the past.
The Two of Wands says out with the old and in with the new!

The gaze of God never stops at our past…

328637315_3191448014487959_7931450513111224577_n

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 7TH, 2023
“Brothers, sisters, let us remember this: the gaze of God never stops at our past, full of errors, but looks with infinite confidence at what we can become. And if at times we feel we are people who are “small of stature”, not up to the challenges of life and far less of the Gospel, mired in problems and sins, Jesus always looks at us with love. As with Zacchaeus, he comes towards us, he calls us by name and, if we welcome him, he comes to our home. Then we might ask ourselves: how do we look at ourselves? Do we feel inadequate, and resign ourselves, or precisely there, when we feel down, do we seek the encounter with Jesus? And then: what gaze do we have towards those who have erred, and who struggle to get up again from the dust of their mistakes? Is it a gaze from above, that judges, disdains, that excludes? Let us remember that it is legitimate to look down on someone only to help them get up again: nothing more. Only then is it legitimate to look down from above. But we Christians must have the gaze of Christ, who embraces from below, who seeks those who are lost, with compassion. This is, and must be, the gaze of the Church, always, the gaze of Christ, not the condemning gaze.
Let us pray to Mary, whose humility the Lord looked upon, and ask her for the gift of a new outlook on ourselves and on others.”
Pope Francis

May Our Lady, persevering in prayer, fortify our perserverance…

326513301_714801523575581_6181310362074707680_n

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 5TH, 2023
“To persevere is to remain constant in goodness, especially when the reality around us urges us to do otherwise. Let us reflect on a few examples: I know that prayer is important, but, like everyone, I too always have a lot to do, and so I put it off: “No, I am busy now, I can’t, I’ll do it later”. Or, I see many crafty people who take advantage of situations, who dodge the rules, and so I too stop observing them and persevering in justice and legality: “But if these scoundrels do it, so will I!”. Beware of this! And again: I carry out service in the Church, for the community, for the poor, but I see that many people in their free time think only of enjoying themselves, and so I feel like giving up and do what they do. Because I do not see results, or I get bored, or it does not make me happy.
Persevering, instead, is remaining in goodness. Let us ask ourselves: what is my perseverance like? Am I constant, or do I live faith, justice and charity according to the moment: I pray if I feel like it; I am fair, willing and helpful if it suits me; whereas if I am dissatisfied, if no one thanks me, do I stop? In short, do my prayer and service depend on circumstances or on a heart that is steadfast in the Lord? If we persevere — Jesus reminds us — we have nothing to fear, even in the sad and ugly events of life, even in the evil we see around us, because we remain grounded in the good. Dostoevsky wrote: “Have no fear of men’s sin. Love a man even in his sin, for that is the semblance of Divine Love and is the highest love on earth” (The Brothers Karamazov, Part 2, Book 4, Chapter 3). Perseverance is the reflection in the world of God’s love, because God’s love is faithful, it is persevering, it never changes.
May Our Lady, servant of the Lord, persevering in prayer (cf. Acts 1:12), fortify our perseverance.”
Pope Francis

Are you engaged with the activities that encourage growth through change and circumstances?

knight-of-pentacles

The Knight of Pentacles isn’t the kind of warrior you’d expect from a knight. He is meticulous, sensible, and dependable. This knight, who is never in a rush, takes his time. He walks so slowly that at times you wonder whether he’s moving at all.
He’s constantly busy, and he’s frequently engaged in a variety of activities outside of his daily work. He takes his job seriously and considers the big picture, which includes the things he has to accomplish to grow into the person he wants to be. He has trouble coping with sudden changes on occasion. He despises being caught off guard in any circumstance.
The characteristics of patience, honor, and reliability are symbolized by the Knight of Pentacles, and his presence in your spread may suggest that you, too, share these qualities. This individual enjoys regularity and efficiency and is a diligent worker. Another conventional interpretation is that he symbolizes a young man who will soon join your life as a trustworthy carrier of good news.
The Knight of Pentacles card places us in the midst of rolling, lush hills; the card’s purples and greens are both intriguing and lovely. Front and center, the knight rides a dark black horse with a crimson saddle and reigns. The horse is incredibly still – every other knight in every other suite is moving about, but the Knight of Pentacles and his horse are completely still. The knight is dressed in his best metal armor, with crimson accents on his clothes. He holds a pentacle in one hand, not moving it or presenting it, but holding it out so he may study it

This knight is a hardworking young man but he tends to let his job drive him to ruin. He is often assigned work that is sluggish and unsatisfactory, yet he is determined to complete every tedious task that comes his way. His dedication is commendable, but he tends to get too preoccupied with little things.
He’ll be the one finishing up one of his tedious projects, only to put it off until he figures out what font to use for his paper… which will take him an hour or two. He’s a realist, but he can be a genuine downer when it comes to your aspirations and goals – he’ll be the first to scoff at them. He’s worked hard to get where he is, but now that he’s there, he’s unlikely to want to leave – he won’t be searching for adventure any time soon.
If You Exist, It Means The Universe Thinks You Deserve To
This card offers both advice and caution: seek refinement in the good areas he symbolizes, but stay away from his bad elements at all costs. While you should praise his hard effort, be wary of his propensity for frequently overworking, for little or no pay. Get thrilled rather than obsessed as obsession is a drive that may hurt you in the long run, while enthusiasm will always benefit you. Finally, be grounded but don’t be afraid to attempt a new experience or two.
When you encounter the Knight of Pentacles in your readings, ask yourself these questions. What part of the knight’s energy is beneficial, and what part is harmful? What aspects of the knight do you recognize in yourself? Are you a cautious and cautious person? Are you a dedicated and hardworking individual? What actions might you take to create a positive change in your life?
What Knight of Pentacles Means for You Today
The Knight of Pentacles has appeared today to encourage you to know your worth and, at least for right now, let life come to you. There are times to take big action and there are times to wait for the universe to deliver what you need. The Knight of Pentacles is an indication that now is a good time to sit still and stay where you are at. Don’t chase after a specific outcome right now, things are happening behind the scenes and the universe is arranging things in your favor. Trust in divine timing.

If you forgive the sins of anyone, they are forgiven them…

Greta1-26-23

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 3RD, 2023
” Jesus says to his disciples: “If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them” (v. 23). Yet before giving the apostles the power to forgive, he forgives them, not with words but with an act, the first act of the Risen Lord. The Gospel tells us that, “he showed them his hands and his side” (v. 20). Jesus showed them his
wounds. He showed them his wounds, because forgiveness is born from wounds. It is born when our wounds do not leave scars of hatred, but become the means by which we make room for others and accept their weaknesses. Our weakness becomes an opportunity, and forgiveness becomes the path to peace. This does not mean that we turn around and act as if nothing is changed; instead, we open our hearts in love to others. That is what Jesus does: faced with the sadness and shame of those who had denied him and fled, he shows his wounds and opens up the wellspring of mercy. He does not multiply words, but opens wide his wounded heart, in order to tell us that he is always wounded with love for us.
Together, we believe that Jesus always gives us the possibility of being forgiven and starting over, but also the strength to forgive ourselves, others and history! That is what Christ wants. He wants to anoint us with his forgiveness, to give us peace and the courage to forgive others in turn, the courage to grant others a great amnesty of the heart. What great good it does us to cleanse our hearts of anger and remorse, of every trace of resentment and hostility! Dear brothers and sisters, may today be a time of grace for you to accept and experience Jesus’ forgiveness! May it be the right time for those of you who bear heavy burdens in your heart and long for them to be lifted so that you can breathe freely once again.”

Do not waste the gift that we are; Do not waste the gifts that we have; Do not throw people away…

askforyourneedstobemet

 TUESDAY, JANUARY 31, 2023
“I would like to propose to you three challenges against the waste mentality, the throw-away mentality.
The first challenge: not to waste the gift that we are. Each one of us is a good, independent of the gifts we have. Every woman, every man, is rich not only in talents, but in dignity. He or she is loved by God, is valuable, is precious. Jesus reminds us that we are blessed not for what we have, but for who we are. And

when a person lets go and throws him or herself away, he or she wastes themselves. Let us struggle, with God’s help, against the temptations of believing ourselves inadequate, wrong, and to feel sorry for ourselves.
Then, the second challenge: not to waste the gifts we have. It is a fact that about one-third of total food production goes to waste in the world each year, while so many die of hunger! Nature’s resources cannot be used like this. Goods should be taken care of and shared in such a way that no one lack what is necessary. Rather than waste what we have, let us disseminate an ecology of justice and charity, of sharing!
Lastly, the third challenge: not to throw people away. The throw-away culture says, “I use you in as much as I need you. When I am not interested in you anymore, or you are in my way, I throw you out”. It is especially the weakest who are treated this way – unborn children, the elderly, the needy and the disadvantaged. But people are never to be thrown out, the disadvantaged cannot be thrown away! Every person is a sacred gift, each person is a unique gift, no matter what their age or condition. Let us always respect and promote life! Let’s not throw life away!”
Pope Francis

A Time to Talk
by Robert Frost

When a friend calls to me from the road

And slows his horse to a meaning walk,

I don’t stand still and look around

On all the hills I haven’t hoed,

And shout from where I am,

‘What is it?’No, not as there is a time to talk.

I thrust my hoe in the mellow ground,

Blade-end up and five feet tall,

And plod: I go up to the stone wall

For a friendly visit.
