Lai Poem 2

I’m on the path and
Circuit; speeding land
And tree!

They whiz ‘n fly and
My eye switches sand
For sea!

As jerked and rocked hand
By hand I launch band
Width-ery!

A Lai poem

For lunch: zucchini
Mixed with spaghetti
Superb!

For sup: pastrami
Mixed with broccoli
A burp!

Aft’ minestrone
TOOTS! crabby, cranky
Disturb!

License Plate: QWK SLVR

QWK SLVR
Zooms in to Nissan;
Needs to quiet the muffler vibe!

Scan the underbody
Oil the fittings;
Not fitting
For QWK SLVR
To rattle through
Her pathfinding!

She’s a silver arrow
Glimmer shimmer
Lazer sliver silver!

(written on iPhone on way to Nissan)

Give Me Your Tired …

Give me your tired views,

Your unsubstantiated truths,

Your relative significance.

Give me your subjective sight

Your  perspectives in the light

Your points have dominance!

I think……………. you see.

And we prevail: we’re worthy!

Together, brings us confidence!

Not proof or opinion or estimation

No prevailing evaluation;

But belief held in benevolence.

We two…we understand each other!

“And Therein Lies the Rub”

And therein lies the rub…
Within the tub
Cause down the drain
Go joy and pain
The merry team descend.

I wonder where
Below the air
My skin cells flow
I cannot know
Their end!

They flow and plant
The seeds to ants
Sprouting roots
Under boots
‘Til seedlings grow again.

I think exists that which I see
when in fact invisibility
is real as me!

Thank you Shakespeare!

Crazy-glue

Hummingbird found something new
Upon my deck today.
Feeder joined with Crazy-glue
From squirrel’s mad foray!

Robins, peckers, finches, doves
Suskines, sparrows flew-
Aghast at squirrel’s leaping loves
Of nuts and seeds and brew.

Squirrel flew and danced and jumped
In whirling desperate view-
His wingless leaps left him dumped
In frenzied Crazy-glue!

Coney Island Ferris Wheel

Coney Island Ferris Wheel

Swinging dizzy
Looking down

Rising skyward
To the stars;

Grasping tightly
Gasping shortly

From the car
So far from ground!

Lights a-blinking
Music blaring

Cotton candy
On my cheeks!

Sinking then
Upon the wind

Blowing hair
With gentle breeze.

Wave to all
Below and aft:

It’s ferris wheel delights
Tonight!

Sometimes Texting Breaks Down

Sometimes Texting Breaks Down

Sometimes texting breaks down,
falls apart
like pizza dough
too thin or too dry:
unsustainable.

I write: “want to see the grand-kids,
hear about NH”

And he writes: “Come Tuesday afternoon”

I write: “have to see Dr.Nussbaum at 5:30PM”

He writes: “Need help all day Thursday”

I write: “Could come after the 10AM appointment with
Dr. McPherson on Thursday but still want to see them on Tuesday
Could bring lunch, pay for painters
and bring some things we bought, eg. cat food”

He writes: “If it’s wet food,
we don’t give the cats wet food.”

And therein, the text breaks down!

We fed them when they were away in N.H.
Brought delectable helpings of Fancy Feast
and filled their little dishes for a week.
Finally, Don bought more, a whole carton, for 2 cats, for another six days.
We had the return date wrong, misinterpreted
the tiny empty cat dishes calling to the grandparents.

Once again, our lavish style,
our opulence spreads over their spartan life.

We have to let go the lunch, the Tuesday visit, the curiosity,
the vacation report, the August week’s growth
upon the one and three year old.

We’re back to begging
for an audience with the Pope of Austerlitz:
ashamed, trepid, tip-toeing on our way to grand-child’s house
with home-made swings, biking paths, dog and cats,
and modest ways

compared to ours:
antique
electronic, compulsive, earthy, expansive, exorbitant,
generous,
sugar-coated Nanna Jeanne and Don!

How I Feel Today

I feel gassy brassy
loose-y dousse-y
plucked and pressed
‘n raw “n juicy!

iPhone woke me
way too early:
grouchy face
is frowning surly!

Surely, sour
slides to bitter;
biting at the bit
am I!

Grrrrrrrr!
