Invisible Tendrils in the Ear

Tendrils reaching in my ear
Swinging round the lobe;
Ringing sounds for me to hear
Gathered round the globe!

Electronic hearing aids
Buzz and click and sing:
Meaning meaning never fades
Applause it’s sure to bring!

Virtual

Virtual

I went to Catholic school
Where virtues reigned!

Posture mattered.
Penmanship won medals.

Kneeling straight
Got approving nods.

Staying in line
Was the sole way to advance.

Now here I am in
Virtual reality.

With a universal view:
From Middle East to China.

USA – a passing view
From satellite.

Sandwiched in
Between script and ancient sages.

Bowing for my bread
Tiny steps to understanding

The power in the clouds
The virtual magnificence of virtue’s child!

The Ant Lady (How similar we are)

Tensile and stubborn
sturdy and tough
unwavering
robust extreme!

Sturdy and tough
solid enough:
exoskeleton extreme!

Unwavering:
forceful, intense
stalwart!

Robust extreme;
curvaceous, outrageous
black sheen!

Vigor and vim
Wishes and whims

Quicksilver!

Suited thin
Flowing trim
Bound to win

Quicksilver!

From far space
In this place
Magic face

Quicksilver!

Catch a ride
By her side
Trails are wide

Quicksilver!

PINK

It’s the pink in the ink
that grabs me.
It flushes and blushes
a ruddy and shocking display.

That grabs me,
at dawn, the scarlet red sea
with dianthus wild blossoms:pink eyes!

It flushes and blushes
all noses and ears with
pinkie-chilled, winter-y winds.

A ruddy and shocking display
Of pin-pricks from salmon on run:
their florid jump-dance in the sun!

Empty

Empty

Are you the river emptied into the bay?
Today be engorged by the rain.

Are you the pocket emptied by the drawers?
Today be stuffed with barter gems galore.

Are you devoid and destitute?
Today cling to sufficiency.

Are you exhausted, depleted, evacuated?
Today float up to the brim. Let the Spirit lavish you.

Are you abandoned, neglected by empty promises?
Today make plentiful ones.(to yourself)

Are you stripped of goals, ideals and notions?
Today find Ample. Have a picnic.

Are you the child without contents?
Today be jam-packed with hope: a promise of evolution!

Are you too old for discoveries?
Today find profuse extravagance. Breath in your inheritance.

Tendril

Tendril

“Til tender tendril
Grows nil;

“Til swaying drill
Grows still;

My mill will instill
Its swill

For you and me.

Lai Poem 2

I’m on the path and
Circuit; speeding land
And tree!

They whiz ‘n fly and
My eye switches sand
For sea!

As jerked and rocked hand
By hand I launch band
Width-ery!

A Lai poem

For lunch: zucchini
Mixed with spaghetti
Superb!

For sup: pastrami
Mixed with broccoli
A burp!

Aft’ minestrone
TOOTS! crabby, cranky
Disturb!
