THE PUMPKINS’ GET-TOGETHER

Pumpkins and Squashes

Pumpkins gathered in the field
to roast and toast and boast;
Then squashes came to cheer them on:
The acorns clapped the most!

To roast and toast and boast
’bout whose spice smelled the best:
nutmeg, sugar, cinnamin zest?

Then squashes came to cheer them on:
Butternut, gourds, and zucc’s
With marinade upon their dukes.

The acorns clapped the most!
with butter melted quick
between their golden licks!

Yum! Yum!
All rights.

I love the rich colours in the photo and the richness of your words, Jeanne. Super autumn poem!

Did you like me again? Catherine Johnson?
You have no idea how supportive the little clicks are. Between you and Joy Acey, I have a poetry cheerleader’s squad. Then, David Harrison is in front twirling his baton.
    Jeanne, (the exclamation point poet)
