made it to 41! and beyond!
today
was a celebration
of fabulous feats
fabulous child athletes
on the lake
in the hills
in the boats
on the bikes
in our fabulous 40’s!

Skippy John Jones and the blue-eyed view

I’ve never seen a blue-eyed owl…

lives only on the internet… like the blue feathers

these irises were human before being pasted here…
Enjoy the illusions of mystery and magic.
Conjure good fortune and wisdom.

Katerina Babanofsky are you out there? I miss you……..
My family members
get incensed by my
poems, photos, and anecdotes,
used without permission.
What I saw was
extraordinary beauty,
extreme honesty,
divine insight.
The publication
does not bring fame
to me or them.
It is a gallery,
a record of a telling moment.
Just like “Spoon River Anthology”
was a gallery
for Edgar Lee Masters.
The Illinois characters
based on the tombstones
made those town’s people angry too.
Did the best-selling book
make them jealous?
Or were they upset
at the mention of their names?
Was Masters a grave digger?
Am I a property thief?

August augers well
Owen mimics his Mom; grabs her eyeglasses, and grins. He took 35 years to study this look!
Owen’s Bday: 8/27
Arthur’s Bday: 8/23
Parent’s Anniversary: 8/17
I knew when surgery was scheduled for 8/17 that it would be blessed by my ancestors.
August always brought new beginnings:
school openings, Fall, school assignments, family gatherings…
Today marks a new foot for me;
perhaps I will not “put it in my mouth”any time soon.
Perhaps it’s a discrete foot!
August’s fruit!

running is better when you’re a redhead
singing is louder when you’re a redhead
freckles more numerous
commands more sweeping
paths more paradoxical
more outlandish
superb!

Bill Gates looks like he’s getting younger; did he find the fountain of youth?
not fair?
accomplish something?
start small?
know a tough boss?
be humble?
no whining?
try delousing?
be a winner?
work 365 days?
go to job joyfully?
respect the nerds?
thank a teacher?
