E-mails Don’t Live in Real Time

Real Time Has A Past
(Zits on Texting)

E-mails Don’t Live in Real Time

Among my 800 e-mails
Were two that warned me
To beware of the time errors for the
Mark Wunderlich Workshop.
E-mails Don’t Live in Real Time

But I had noted the Newspaper account.
So, an 11 AM e-mail informed me that
The Wonderful Wunderlich Workshop
Commenced at 10 and ended at 1!!!!!
E-mails Don’t Live in Real Time.

I flew from my garage
Clutching the glass of coffee
From 8AM’s feeding break,
And parked carefully at Roe Jan, 25 minutes later.
E-mails Don’t Live in Real Time.

The door locked me out!
A sympathetic poet admitted me.
I tip-toed, shamefacedly, around the table.
Mark immediately rose and made space at his left hand.
Poets live in real time.

I saw a floor-plan in front of the poet
With each person’s name written like each
Of the seated Knights at the Round Table.
He entered my name surreptitiously.
Mark lives in real space.

Never missing focus
Or the beat of the performance on stage.
A living GPS for all of us.
A schemata to guide us quickly to the parking space.
Mark lives in real time,
.
Just right!
With blue-eyed glance and balanced stance
His crisp smile guided us
Through three tight hours of twists and turns.
‘Til we left in real time.

We left,
Pathfinders, paving way
To ultimate delivery.
Real time poets!

Rogue on the Road to Rhode Island

Rogue on the Road to Rhode Island
(departure:8AM)

Don programmed the GPS for 13 Sherman St.Newport,RI.
It calculated we would arrive at 12:38PM
But we skittered through Mass on the toll road,
And the robot continued to steer us back to the country routes.

It calculated we would arrive at 12:38PM
But, using the toll road, we parked at 11:24!
Speed limit on I90 was 65mph; in Conn: 30mph!

But we skittered through Mass on the toll road
First E, then N, then E;the robot voice ignored.
She never voiced her rage; calmly plotted on.

And the robot continued to steer us back to the country routes
U turns, hills, a satellite view from the clouds;
And we, like arrows, found our mark, stealthily on the ground.

ROGUE RASCAL

Quicksilver switches gears from Silver Path to Silver GPS

1
I rose, reflecting,
rambled round
the rows of cars:
Ravs – Rogues were found!

Rambled round
the leather, chrome
and ‘luminum.

The rows of cars
glistened silver in the sun;
they winked at me!

Ravs – Rogues were found;
rallied slick:
a rascal’s scapegrace pick!

2
The trickster picked the varied car:
the playful mischievous Rogue;
with GPS and safety plus
stability and style!

The playful mischievous Rogue,
a compact SUV
with feline curvity!

With GPS and safety plus
automatic paths
that speak!

Stability and style
strut out
and eloquently bow!
