A Limerick for Saint Patrick’s Day

Theforest2 clapping and singing you soon will be sharing!

My friend Catherine said to take the last letter
of the first name and the first letter of the last name to come up with a leprechaun name. The first initial meant “wharty”and the second initial was missing so I’m using “Ep” as my leprechaun name. Here is the limerick:

Ep liked to dance and to skate and do tricks;
She twirled, and she jumped over hurdles and wicks;
Sent candle flames sparkling, and hurdles sprang free
“til the moon came to step with the sunshine jolly.
“Twas the day-night a-sparkling, a true jamboree
A fairies’ and leprechauns’ green jubilee!
Join them this day, be quick and be daring,
The clapping and singing you soon will be sharing!

My Holy Spirit (5)

Hummingbird

Wind dancer: Hummer Warrior;
Dazzling feathers of red and green;
Sacred Bird; tireless energy;
Nectar of Joy, Swiftness and Balance.

Dazzling feathers of red and green
From gray to the sun’s brightest hues:
Resplendent, divine whispered dews.

Sacred bird: tireless energy
Apparitions of ancestors past:
Their magic and chantings ring fast!

Nectar of Joy, Swiftness and Balance:
All nature bows down in worship
Before thee, Wind Dancer,Hum Warrior!

My Holy Spirit (4)

Innuit Seagull

White feathered tern, akin with the humans,
Resourceful sea-mother-father; guardian of the shore;
Inquisitive crab-eater; unhinging jaw clincher;
Intelligent tool user; whale eater warrior.

Resourceful sea-mother-father: guardian of the shore;
Long life survivor: parent of invention:
Evolving, adapting, deploying.

Inquisitive crab-eater; unhinging jaw clincher;
Cohesive crowd pleaser: protecting
From predator squawks.

Intelligent tool user; whale eater warrior
Feeding the young with the milk of your breast
Cross your kingdom on the sea.

My Holy Spirit (3)

Eagle

Gripping talons, wings of protection,
Imperial power, lofty spirit action;
Soars above the world; discriminates ambiguity;
Spirit of Salvation, Redemption, Resurrection.

Imperial power, lofty spirit action
Aristocratic, noble Roman ensign
Radiant as the sun, high and weighty emblem.

Soars above the world, discriminates ambiguity
Balances justice, truth, equality:
Weighty actions, vast authority.

Spirit of Salvation, Redemption, Resurrection
Speeds to comprehension: Father, Son & Spirit:
Mother of all three: Continuity.

My Holy Spirit (2)

Owl

Owl symbolizes wisdom. Holy Spirit brings wisdom to help us examine our lives; shows us past denial and self deception. He conforms us to the image of God’s son.

Your wisdom-eyes pierce the darkness of the night;
Inner light speeds vision through the trees and haze.
Your gizzard guides you in the storm, the winds
Make way for victory-guardian’s flighted maze.

Inner light speeds vision through the trees and haze:
You hear our cries, our pleas for mercy, sight,
The holy view, You knew, in Christ Your Son.

Your gizzard guides you in the storm, the winds
A rally-call, a tumult-spin, a war to win:
Protector’s wide spread wings!

Make way for victory-guardian’s flighted maze:
A guiding bird, watchful gaze, prophet
Of holiness! sanctifier-spirit!

My Holy Spirit

doves connect

I believe the Holy Spirit is a comforter, counselor, advocate, minister and spirit of truth.
John 14:15-18
14:26
15:26
16:5-16

I believe that even God can’t know himself without his Holy Spirit.
So why would we symbolize Him as a bird, and more specifically as a dove?

Doves are the sheep of the bird world: gentle followers;
Devoted to their mates, for life; nesting in beaks;
Docile in sacrifice, roaming freely in clouds;
Glimmering silver and gold against the peaks.

Devoted to their mates, for life; nesting in beaks;
Loyal nurturers to young and to weak;
The patient, proud parents we seek.

Docile in sacrifice, roaming freely in clouds;
Transporting, transforming, ne’er loud.
But swiftly swelling, quiet and proud.

Glimmering silver and gold against the peaks;
Dazzling light, prism’s plumage;
Other worldly, other person, other lover!

Send A Letter

To send a letter is a good way to go somewhere without moving anything but your heart. Phyllis Theroux

Abdelhamid Djouambi -5

I key in a poem in Notebook on my iPad;
I type daintily on my keyboard;
I dance the Palmer Method Handwriting Tango on scrap paper;
Then stage the production in snail mail.

I want to send my heart,
Deftly, slowly, choreographed with curtains
Addressed with fervor:
A choice gift that’s certain.

While We Sleep

VIOLET Starscape

How dare the day change at Midnight!
Are we not the author of dawn?
The painter of the stars, the guardian of the moon?
Is it we who smile on earth, in sunbeams, at the dawn?

Or are we simply grains of sand reflecting light;
Grinding slowly into earth,
Its precious minerals?

Holes

Concealer cannot
fill the holes
that nature’s wrought;
render them pools
of everlasting life!
